One year ago, the thought haunted him: What if his office grew quiet and the phone didn't ring? ``You had to wonder. After all, Paul's name attracted some high-end facilities," said David Southworth, referring to Paul Fireman, his friend and longtime associate. Fireman had hired Southworth some 15 years earlier to be president and CEO of Willowbend Development Corp., and their love of golf and the opportunities it presented made them a formidable team. ``As you go through life, there are perhaps 10 people who touch your life and make it special," Southworth said. ``Paul and [his wife] Phyllis are two such people for me."
