Creighton Farms to Host 2013 Senior PGA Professional National Championship

Northern Virginia’s scenic Creighton Farms in Aldie, Va., will return as host of the 2013 Southworth Senior PGA Professional National Championship presented by Mercedes-Benz, Oct. 10-13. River Creek Club in Leesburg, Va., will also return as the co-host of first and second round play. The 264-player field will be composed of senior PGA Professionals representing the 41 PGA Sections, and will compete for a total purse of $285,000 on both courses over the first two rounds of play.
Machrihanish Dunes Wins Scotland Enterprise Award

Magazine.  This annual, global competition reviews and evaluates developments based on the vision of the development (50%), course routing (25%) and course aesthetics (25%).  The panel of judges was comprised of an award-winning developer, an architect and a consultant.
Meredith Bay Townhomes Selling Fast

Starting in the mid-$500s, the townhomes at Meredith Bay have been in high demand despite the down economy, selling almost as fast as we can build them.. The Machrihanish Dunes Golf Club was named among Great Britain’s Top 100 Links Courses by National Club Golfer magazine.  Machrihanish Dunes ranked #38 out of 100 links courses based on criteria imposed by the magazine.  This is the fourth Top 100 ranking that Machrihanish Dunes Golf Club has earned this year, in addition to accolades for being its sustainability and environmental friendliness -- and other hospitality awards for the hotels at the Argyll resort. 
Willowbend Announces New Director of Golf

Southworth Development announced today that Michael Vidal has been named Director of Golf at Willowbend. Michael has worked for Southworth for the past 5 years and is one of the company’s rising stars. His attention to detail, customer service, operational knowledge and passion for hospitality are second to none. Mr. Vidal will move to Willowbend from another Southworth Development Property, Creighton Farms in Aldie, VA.
